Low Footed Cup

Footed Teacups
In Japan these cups are called 'Yunomi' and are everyday drinking cups. They have a tall foot to hold while the body of the cup is too hot to grip. You can hold the cup by the rim and foot and then wait for your chosen drink to come to a drinkable temperature and then they are lovely clasp in your hands.

This variation of my Footed Cups is made from an iron rich and high fired stoneware clay and has a lower, trimmed footing

Thrown and vertically textured. Bisque slip, Cornish Stone and Dolomite glaze with additional melted hardwood ash. Approx 7.5cm tall x approx 9cm diameter at the rim.
